MoMA Remote Control Spaceman

The MoMA Remote Control Spaceman comes with a 2 channel infrared remote controller and flies up to 50 feet high. The SpaceMoMAN charges via the rapid battery charging unit which requires 8 AA batteries. Maybe I’m just picky, but in the 21st Century I want my remote control toys to have embedded video cameras or fire missiles or maybe even fly themselves. Still, SpaceMoMAN wins total style points for his retro spacesuit and jaunty black-and-white checkered swatch on his main propeller.

Kingston USB Wi-Drive Wirelessly Shares Files With 3 Apple Devices

Ever find yourself wishing you had more storage on your iPhone, iPod, or iPad? Kingston feels your pain and has released their new Wi-Drive USb 2.0 portable hard drives with 802.11g/n wi-fi allowing up to three Apple devices to wirelessly connect at the same time. WPA/WEP security means you can lock down access to the files on your Wi-Drive and according to Kingston the internal battery will run for approximately four hours of continuous use. Configurable access point name (APN) means you can set the network name of the drive to whatever you want and a dedicated app is available to download from Apple’s App Store. Theoretically, with an Apple TV, an iPod Touch, and one of these Wi-Drives you should be able to wirelessly stream HD content from the drive to your HD television using AirPlay. We may need to pick up a Kingston Wi-Drive to test this theory! Comes in 16GB and 32GB flavors.

You can download 16GB EXTERNAL HARDDISK and 32GB EXTERNAL HARDDISK from Amazon

Your Very Own Pet Triceratops Dinosaur Robot – Only $350,000

Some of us are old enough to remember when the only dinosaur toys available were ugly blue lumps of plastic vaguely shaped like dinosaurs – here we thought we were lucky in 2005 when we reviewed a museum quality, 1/20 scale Tyrannosaurus Rex! Ah, progress. Fast-forward in time to 2011 and for a measly $350k you can own your very own 20 foot long, animatronic & motion sensing Triceratops. Motion-activated cameras in each eye work with interactive software allowing this prehistoric beast to recognize facial features and emotions. The hidden, 1000 watt speaker almost guarantees the soiling of underpants for both children and adults alike.  we do solemnly swear that if we ever have thirty five million dollars just lying around we will purchase 100 of these saurian robots and create our very own, real-life Jurassic Park.

How To Use ANY Bluetooth Headset With Your Playstation 3

So you’ve got your Playstation 3, a copy of Resistance: Fall Of Man and you’re all setup to go multiplayer online. The only thing missing is a wireless headset to chat with your team right? The Playstation 3 uses Bluetooth for its wireless controllers which got me to thinking…what about a Bluetooth headset? Turns out you can pair ANY Bluetooth Headset with your PS3 for voice chat, here’s how.

Turn on your Playstation 3, and from the main menu go to Settings – Accessory Settings – Register Bluetooth Device
You will be presented with two options:
Register BD Remote Control
Register Headset/Microphone/Headphones
Select Register Headset… and put your Bluetooth headset into pairing mode. On your PS3 select Start Scanning
Select your device and enter your pairing code. In most cases for audio devices the default pairing code is “0000″
Now on your PS3, go to Audio Device Settings and change your “Input Device” and “Output Device” to your Bluetooth headset name. Try speaking and watch your “Mic Level” move!
While playing Resistance: Fall Of Man you can voice chat with other players by pressing and holding down L3. I use the  PlayStation 3 Bluetooth Headset 2.0with my phone, for Bluetooth audio on my laptop, and now for voice chat on my PS3. The Plantronics 590 allows for up to eight device pairings and it works flawlessly with the PS3 – I was even able seamlessly answer an incoming cell phone call and then switch back to PS3 voice chat. While playing Resistance I only came across one other person using a Bluetooth headset for voice chat, and so I wanted to get the word out.

Dancing Cat Speaker

Now, I know that the Internet is a dangerous place that can suck your soul for hours on end if you are not careful, where the strategically made cat videos and photos are where the rabbit hole opens up, and when you dive headlong in, you would have realized that unlike Alice, there is no bottom to reach. Well, perhaps the example on how cute cats could spark off a phenomenon (irritating felines such as the Nyan Cat are a different story altogether) has resulted in the inspiration to deliver the £32.99 Dancing Cat Speaker.
This cute and cuddly toy cat will stand upright as though it was a human, and even better is the fact that it is no ordinary speaker to begin with. As long as your musical playback device will jive with a 3.5mm audio jack, it is good to go. Apart from playing back your favorite tunes, the Dancing Cat Speaker will do as its name implies, dance. All you need to do is hook it up, play your song and watch it bop around in time to the music being played back! Of course, you can opt to have it dance while playing back tunes, or simply to let it function as a speaker without all the vigorous dancing, depending on the situation.

Receptor BUG Communication Helmet

If there is one thing that one cannot avoid in life (other than death and taxes, of course), it would be fashion. Since our ancestors ditched the fig leaf, you can more or less say that mankind has been on a quest to dress as well as possible, even more so in social functions and events, and more often than not to be as attractive as possible. After all, we are not peacocks who do have beautiful feathers to strut, do we? And most of us do not look that flattering in our birthday suits, either. Well, if you are going to go on plenty of rough-and-tumble adventures during the winter, you might as well make the most of it by looking nice and listening to your favorite inspiring tunes, and this is where the Receptor BUG communication helmet comes in handy.
It does not make sense to cram a pair of headphones in between your noggin and a helmet, as that is the perfect recipe for discomfort, which is why ski and snowboard helmet manufacturer POC has decided to work with their engineering team in order to come up with a special helmet that will integrate a set of Beats by Dr. Dre headphones into the neck roll.
The Receptor BUG Communication will be inspired by the Receptor BUG, which so happens to be one of the Swedish company’s most popular helmet models. Apart from enjoying your favorite tunes, you can also take phone calls, adjust the volume level, and skip tracks thanks to the a 1.3 m (4.3 ft) long cable with integrated microphone and remote control which will hook up to a smartphone.
The Receptor BUG Communication is not that lightweight though, but you should not notice it too much at 550 grams a pop, where black and white are the colors you can choose from. You can pick it up from January 2013 onward in sizes ranging from XS to XXL, where it will retail for around $337 each.

LG has two new Google TV models at CES 2013

CES 2013 looks set to be a blast, as with all other editions of CES in the past. What kind of newfangled technology can we look forward to in a fortnight’s time as CES goes into full swing at Las Vegas? For starters, we do know that LG Electronics will be introducing an extended Google TV range, where the new models will be known as the GA7900 and GA6400, and these bad boys will deliver an outstandingly intuitive user experience at a size that ought to suit everyone, while meeting more consumers’ expectations than ever before.
Sporting Google’s latest platform as well as LG’s redesigned Magic Remote Qwerty, they will both work together in order to enhance the effectiveness of Voice Search and the PrimeTime quick guide. With the inclusion of an updated Smart Home, it is said to also add to the user experience by offering convenient, streamlined access to VoD (Video on Demand), YouTube and additional apps. You will be able to discover exciting new content from the rich pool of choices that are available on LG Google TV in a way that is easier than ever before. Not only that, the premium model will throw in LG’s advanced Cinema Screen design for an undeniably sleek and modern finish.
If you are an avid gamer, you will be stoked to hear that LG Google TV will offer the OnLive app pre-installed, where it will turn your TV into an incredible gaming platform without the need to purchase a separate console. I still think that this kind of setup will not work as well as a regular dedicated console, but hey, at least the app will let you enjoy hundreds of high quality video games available instantly from the cloud. With CINEMA 3D TV functionality, the LG Google TV uses FPR technology that will keep movie buffs and gamers happy by delivering a great 3D effect without the distracting flicker.

Martian Watch offers Bluetooth voice command

Many years ago, when the mobile phone was something large and unwieldy, there was this future-forward comic known as Dick Tracy, and he had this new kind of watch which doubled up as a mobile phone. Certainly the stuff of dreams, but as we plunge headlong into the 21st century, we realize that a watch cum mobile phone is not exactly the most fun or practical device to own, and a smartphone would be far more useful. After all, the smartphone’s form factor works in its favor, not to mention that it is a simple matter to have a clock program running on it. Today, we shall take a closer look at the yet unreleased Martian Watch that offers Bluetooth voice command capability.

Since timing is everything in this day and age, the Martian Watch (no, despite its name, it does not hail from the red planet) is a Bluetooth enabled timepiece that offers voice command capability, and is touted to be the first of its kind in the world. Basically, all you need to do is speak to your timepiece, and it will listen to what you have to say while carrying out the different instructions from your wrist to the smartphone itself.

The Martian Watch is expected to debut at CES later next month (which is just a couple of weeks away actually), where the Martian Watch will be demonstrated on the CES showfloor, offering a truly unique hands-free experience to the consumer. You are able to communicate without having to touch your smartphone, as you access the phone’s plethora of voice commands, where among them include placing and receiving calls, sending voice-to-text messages, listening and responding to text messages, setting calendar notifications and reminders, controlling music, and searching the web.

I would say that this is also safer, as no one would know you are sporting one of the newer handsets since all of it can be achieved without having to remove your smartphone from the pocket or purse.

There is no word on pricing just yet, but we do expect the Martian Watch to be released to the masses shortly after it debuts at CES.

Edifier e1100 Predator speaker system

Any computer user who loves using their desktop machine to wind down after a particularly hard day at work (be it from gaming or watching movies) would definitely know of the value of a speaker system, and with so many different kinds of speaker systems around, just which one would you settle for? Well, you might want to check out the Edifier e1100 Predator speaker system for something that is slightly off the beaten path. For starters, the Edifier e1100 Predator will come with a downward firing 5-inch subwoofer and a couple of desktop satellite speakers, where each of them will have a 2-inch front firing full-range driver and 2-inch passive radiator. Needless to say, the name of this might be Predator, but it seems to be all Alien to us instead, judging by the xenomorph-inspired chassis.
Thanks to the Edifier e1100 Predator’s angled satellites, they are said to enhance sound projection, with their passive radiators throwing in dynamic range. The subwoofer works great in delivering deep, even bass that is adjustable to individual tastes. You can hook up the e1100 Predator to any audio device using the 3.5mm auxiliary input, and it does seem as though the Edifier e1100 Predator is the ideal companion for gaming rigs, in an office, or just functioning as a home entertainment system. You can pick up the Edifier e1100 Predator for $79.99 a pop.

LG Magic Remote announced

LG Electronics has just announced that they will be releasing an all-new Magic Remote for its range of Cinema 3D Smart TVs before CES 2013 kicks off in Las Vegas in a fortnight’s time. This redesigned device will adopt the enhanced language recognition capabilities which make executing commands a cinch, in a natural, interactive and conversational experience. Not only that, this all new design will also continue to employ a quartet of control options for your convenience – where they are voice, gesture, point, and wheel, and LG is touting this to be the most complete universal remote.
Havis Kwon, President and CEO of the LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company, said, “LG is committed to providing innovative home entertainment solutions and the Magic Remote is a key pillar of the CINEMA 3D Smart TV user experience. Building on an already impressive feature set, the latest version boasts accurate lan-guage recognition and its gesture, wheel and point control options makes the Magic Remote stand out amongst its competition as a truly intuitive device.”
The LG Magic Remote will come with sophisticated voice control technology that makes issuing a verbal command to the TV not only simple but effective as well. With new Natural Language Recognition software, sending out voice commands are as easy as making regular speech, where you can talk in a more conversational manner.
There is no more need to pause momentarily between the command and the title, for instance, you can just say “Show me Gangnam Style video” and the new Magic Remote will get to work right away (no idea on whether this is because Gangnam Style is a secret keyword, due to it being South Korean and all).
The LG Magic Remote will arrive in a couple of highly functional models, where one will ship with LG’s premium Cinema 3D Smart TVs, while the other will come with their standard Cinema 3D Smart TV models. Anyone looking forward to performing some “magic”?
